Bridget and Patrick Deering Wedding Story
Saturday, September 12, 2015
My favorite part of the day was the moment Patrick turned around and saw me for the first time. I will never forget the look on his face! It was such a special few minutes and I was so happy our photographer was there to capture it as well.
How We Met
Patrick and I met the very first week of college in 2005 and had been very good friends for a number of years before we started dating. Then, a day after Christmas 2014, he proposed in our home in front our yellow lab, Bennie. We have enjoyed many travels and adventures together and look forward to continuing that tradition for years to come!
Planning for Our Day
Our theme was all over the place! We went with elements of modern, industrial, sophisticated, classic and country. We splurged on our event space. We knew this was where we would get married the second we visit the space, before it was even open as a Museum. We also splurged on having live music as well as a DJ for entertaining our guests. We loved the mix of cocktail hour and dinner music with the everyday hits for dancing later on. Another splurge were the Chiavari chairs, they looked beautiful in the space and were comfortable to sit in for the couple hours of eating and speeches. We wanted to throw a great party and make our guests comfortable, everything was a hit!
Hint for Brides
Slow down and enjoy every moment! That might sound cliche, but it is so important to take deep breathes, look around, and take it all in. Also, steal your hunny for a few private moments together throughout the events!
